The Long and Short Of It...

• improved awareness of Mildenhall, its' retailers, businesses, facilities, community groups and events

• increase footfall in to Mildenhall from USAF bases and the surrounding towns and villages; using the new bus station for traffic in rather than out

• develop a communal 'cross marketing' attitude amongst groups, retailers and businesses to combat decline, increase footfall and profitability

• spreading Mildenhall Museums' knowledge of town history with a view to improving awareness of our heritage, increasing visitor interest and hopefully residents pride

• generate a 'one-stop' reference for shoppers, residents and people interested in attending events and activities - making it easy for bodies to succesfully advertise with minimal expense

A site without valuable content is a site without visitors. VM do not want to produce a site that is simply a listing of information nor a thinly disguised means of advertising.

We would like community members with knowledge that would be of value to site visitors to supply editorial content. The 'interests' page shows initial sample ideas - the more engaging the content the more interest there will be in the site.

Initially the site focused on Mildenhall as the hub of our Parish. Now each village has it's own page on the site [click], so there's a greater catchment area and more exposure.

VM would like to engage the operators of local publications like 'The Barton Miller', 'Mildenhall Messenger' and 'Lakenheath Times' to submit content on a monthly basis. If you can get involved in this fashion please email us here.

This site will be regularly maintained by the VM team: minor weekly updates, monthly update, quarterly overhaul and annual rebuild (this is version 3).

We assist local business, in return we hope they will display one of our window stickers, reference us on their own websites and advertising materials and distribute our business cards. Between windows, vehicles, print materials, websites and search engines massive exposure is gained by all.

We are also engaging in Site Engine Optimisation; so far you'll find VisitMildenhall in the top 5 in Google on most Mildenhall related searches. This kind of success rewards any advertiser who's on the site.

Currently costs are being covered by Mildenhall business FIERYhot design & print. Revenue that contributes to the operating costs comes from advertising and sponsors.

The more revenue we generate, the more we can invest in advertising, the more everyone benefits.
