VisitMildenhall.co.uk

about us

VisitMildenhall.co.uk... a site with purpose

that needs your involvement

There have been a number of well intended attempts at putting web presence for Mildenhall together; each with their own intention and level of success.

What we are doing differently is to present a more complete picture of the town by encompassing everything from personal interests to history, dining, entertainment, hobbies, groups, sports, retail, manufacturing, facilities and information.

This is a fairly major undertaking that will require assistance from able members of the local community. The return benefits of VisitMildenhall.co.uk (VM) to the town should include:

Valuable Free Services

features the site offers...

Mildenhall companies with business premises, classes conducted in town, groups that offer events and so on qualify for free inclusion on VM.

Business Listing

company name, address, phone number

Events Calendar

group events, activities, plays, discos, sporting events etc. - activity and entertainment bringing traffic in to Mildenhall

Sales Listing

free for Mildenhall businesses running a sale in conjunction with another town business - multiple sales in the same time frame give customers multiple reasons to visit town

Optional Contact

If we see a cross marketing opportunity or potentail where one party can benefit from anothers activity we'll put each in contact with the other.

• improved awareness of Mildenhall, its' retailers, businesses, facilities, community groups and events

• increase footfall in to Mildenhall from USAF bases and the surrounding towns and villages; using the new bus station for traffic in rather than out

• develop a communal 'cross marketing' attitude amongst groups, retailers and businesses to combat decline, increase footfall and profitability

• spreading Mildenhall Museums' knowledge of town history with a view to improving awareness of our heritage, increasing visitor interest and hopefully residents pride

• generate a 'one-stop' reference for shoppers, residents and people interested in attending events and activities - making it easy for bodies to succesfully advertise with minimal expense

How will the public know to use VisitMildenhall.co.uk?

We assist local business, in return we ask all retailers and businesses with premises and company vehicles to display one of our window stickers that shows:

find us online at .VisitMildenhall.co.uk

Any bodies, groups, businesses running events/sales etc that print advertising will be asked to quote 'find out more at VisitMildenhall.co.uk' and in exchange details are posted online. Between a mass of windows, vehicles and print matter the site gains massive exposure - every site participant potentially benefits.

the more businesses invite the public to find out about VM the more exposure all participants receive

What does VM need?

Why just Mildenhall?

A site without valuable content is a site without visitors. VM do not want to produce a site that is simply a listing of information (this is partially the case while in-build) nor a thinly disguised means of advertising.

We would like community members with knowledge that would be of value to site visitors to supply editorial content. The 'interests' page shows initial sample ideas - the more engaging content is across the site the more interest will be generated about the town.

Initially the site will focus on Mildenhall as the hub of our Parish. Once this part of the site is complete enough to be functional time will then be dedicated to the surrounding villages.

Each of these will receive their own page on the site [click] with the same principle applying to all of the villages as Mildenhall. VM would like to engage the operators of local publications like 'The Barton Miller' to submit content on a monthly basis. To contact VM regards this opportunity or to submit content please click here.

This site will be regularly maintained by owners FIERYhot: minor weekly updates, main monthly update and finally a quarterly overhaul.

Mildenhall formed the core of the largest Parish in Suffolk, these days the retail community could do with support so VM is focusing its' attention here

How do I get involved?

Who's paying for all this?

Currently costs are being covered by Mildenhall business FIERYhot design & print. Revenue will be generated for this company by offering 1 page presence on the site for local retailers [click] at prices between £60-£100.

VM would like to get both involvement and financial support from Forest Heath District Council, and ultimately produce a monthly publication to support Mildenhall and surrounding villages; revenue generated here from advertising space.

VM/FIERYhot will also approach the Council with regard to supplying advertising boards for displaying promotional posters in prominent locations to reduce the fly-posting that has increased as businesses fight to compete.

retailers who need online presence have the opportunity to buy a well designed and effective page right here on VisitMildenhall.co.uk
