What To Do?  There's a wealth of interests to be indulged here from medieval history, angling, plane spotting and greyhound racing to shopping, market days, swimming, football, stock cars, speedway and country walks.

Driving in to town?  Head towards Mildenhall Swimming Pool. Located alongside is our largest car park that's conveniently close to the playground, Jubilee Center, playground, town center and the picturesque river and Jubilee fields.

Taking the bus?  You'll arrive at our new bus shelter opposite the precinct, from here it's easy to find your way. Inside the new bus station you'll find literature about Mildenhall and district. Taxi's can also be hailed from this area making it very convenient place for visitors to get about.

Looking for a night out?  Check out the pubs and bars that spread from the center of town out in to the neighbouring villages. You can also grab a ride out to Mildenhall Stadium for a quality night at greyhound racing, stock cars or speedway.

Visit… Mildenhall Museum

How so much is displayed in this building is beyond us. From fossilised pre-history to the Romans, Norman's, the Victorian era, WW2, RAF Mildenahall and the first flight to Australia from the UK; all crammed in to a flint building opposite the chip shop.

Visit… Lakenheath

Right on the edges of the village are RSPB Lakenheath Fen and Maids Cross Hill. Two very different, very beautiful nature reserves that anyone casually driving through the village would be regretfully unaware of.

  A Question of History

There are some fascinating, and sometimes horrid historic perspectives to Mildenhall.

St. Mary’s Church, located a stone throw from the Market Cross is one of the largest and finest churches in Suffolk? Have you heard about the axe head and arrow damage in the ceiling rafters (attibuted to Common-wealth Puritan iconoclast vandals?)!

Did you know there was a huge fire in the market place, destroying nearly all the property there? That the punishment of being placed in the stocks was carried out at the Market Cross, and that the Abbot of Bury St. Edmunds could authorise the hanging of criminals on this site?

Walking around the town you'll see clues and hints at our town's history - to get greater insight there's a fascinating article here.
