The home straight of the stadium's concrete terracing is under cover along with the Fen Men Bar bend; providing fine views for all the forms of racing held at the venue.

Drink
The bar at Mildenhall Stadium was recently refurbished and built largely from reclaimed oak. The bar, called 'The Fen Men Bar' pours the usual range of alcoholic, non alcoholic and hot drinks and offers a few bar snacks.

TV screens are dotted around the interior which regular play sporting events or action replays if you are attending on a race night. There is a second licensed bar with seperate balcony area overlooking the track.

Inside the Fen Men is a large seating area and though this is mainly an adult venue many bring their families to enjoy the bangers and so on. Rough around the edges it may be but it is very family friendly!

Food
Considering the venue is out in the fens to the north of Mildenhall it does offer quite a variety for those roaming out of town: a Fish Bar, The Lounge Bar and Raceview Restaurant.

Friday night greyhound racing wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Fish Bar. If you're going, make sure to pick some up - it's VM's hot tip for a night at the dogs.

Best Deal
The Stadium offers a great programme, the 6 Pack Party package.

A group of ten people or more are offered the following at just £10 a person:

Admission and Race Programme
Meal of chicken & chips, fish & chips or scampi & chips
Drink, choose a pint of draught lager or bitter, or a single house spirit with mixer.
Two £1 Tote bets (to practice!)
An admission slip to a future meeting

It can be hard to get 10 together on one night but it's definately worth it.

VM Review

PRO'S
- Only place in the area to enjoy the kind of events offered
- A good range of food and drink at decent prices
- Venue available for hire
- Greyhound racing a good value night out, esp. with a party
- When busy it's a really exciting night out
- A break from the routine weekend entertainment

MEH
- Awkward to get to on a narrow fen road
- Some crowds are rough and ready if you have kids

CON'S
- Stockcar meets are really pricey
- Sometimes a bit empty, especially in the winter
- Toilets can be unsavoury

Next visit we'll check on the con's and see if anything has changed! Meantime, if you're looking for a different night out with friends you'll be hard pushed to beat the 6 Pack Party Deal, Friday nights.
